Zo de reis is begonnen! Na een zware dag van afscheid nemen en een echte race tegen de klok zaten we dan eindelijk om 4 uur s’nachts in de auto samen met de ouders van Thijs onderweg naar Schiphol. Daar eenmaal aangekomen hebben we digitaal ingecheckt en viel wederom het kussen en knuffelen zwaar. Na een laatste zwaai en een kus in de lucht hebben we onze tassen afgeleverd bij de balie en bleek dat Thijs wat meer kilootjes bij heeft dan dat ik heb gepakt. Na de eerste verwondering start het nu dan echt. We vliegen eerst met een half volle chartervlucht naar Oekraïne. Doordat er weinig passagiers waren hadden Thijs en ik ieder 2 stoelen voor ons zelf. Een goed begin al zeg ik het zelf. Helaas was de beenruimte voor Thijs wat beperkt maar aangezien we vanuit Kiev naar Beijing met een Boeing vliegen zou het na ons idee alleen maar beter worden. Na een prima vlucht van 2 uur en 50 min mochten we opnieuw door de controles en vlogen we binnen een uur door naar Beijing. Goed geregeld allemaal totdat we daadwerkelijk in de Boeing zaten en merkten dat er qua beenruimte geen verbetering in zat, we geen films hadden en we de komende 9 uur in een overvol vliegtuig zitten met Thijs zijn benen in zijn nek. Inmiddels hebben we wat kip met rijst gehad, bleek dat een upgrade naar de comfortabele klasse €289,- p.p. kost en staan alle stoelen nu in een ligstand waardoor we echt sardientjes in een blikje zijn. Maar hey, over een paar uur vliegen zijn we er eindelijk en zijn we over een week dit alles vergeten en hopelijk al wat avonturen rijker. Lijkt jou het leuk om al onze avonturen te lezen??
